- Well...my experimentation with technique is certainly becoming
- more ambitious, even if my Cyber animations still lack a certain
- something in the way of a storyline!
-
- The "Lovely Angel" animation grew out of an evening I spent
- toying with Matt McIrvin's wonderful fractal graphics program,
- MOUNTAINS 2.1. I decided to try animating one of the fractal
- landscapes generated...then figured it needed something more...
-
- UNISPEC's 512-color capabilities are quite terrific--yet where I
- really find it handy is for its 16-color conversion and
- dithering functions. They came in most handy here, as I
- increased the scope of my available palette to make room for a
- CAD-3D animation.
-
- The spacecraft shown is based on the "Lovely Angel" from a
- recent enthusiasm of mine, the Japanese animated series DIRTY
- PAIR (involving the interstellar espionage work of two young
- ladies who have an unnerving tendency to catalyze planetary
- catastrophes). I created it using Tom Hudson's terrific CYBER
- SCULPT--an intimidatingly complex program whose functions
- nevertheless become more and more intuitive with use.
-
- The ship was animated using CAD-3D 2.0 and CYBER CONTROL,
- naturally. The lunar animation and overall synthesis of the
- finished work was accomplished with CYBER PAINT.
-
- Now, if anybody would tell me what the hell is HAPPENING in the
- sequence, I sure would appreciate it!
